Patty Boone, executive director of UWLC said, "I am so excited about the way the campaign is going. So far we have received pledges totaling more than $274,800, or about 69 percent of our goal. I am very, very impressed with the GM Powertrain/UAW/IBEW, and Ford Visteon IUE/CWA campaigns. Those folks have just been amazing."
The campaign at GM Powertrain surpassed its goal of $165,000 the first day,
eventually reaching over $180,000 at its close, reported in an earlier story
in the Times-Mail.
The Ford Visteon IUE/CWA campaign set a goal of $60,000, and as of Thursday morning had reached $75,000 with one more day to go.
"The IUE/CWA workers have been very supportive in the past," Boone said, "This year they are really reaching in their pockets to help others in need. I've been pleased and amazed at the warm welcome we receive and by how much these hard-working people are giving."
