- Leadership Roundtable

Debbie Turner, Publisher, Times Mail
“I believe that the United Way of Lawrence County
should be a stronger organization than we’ve
seen in the past, meeting larger goals, increasing
the giving amounts from Lawrence County residents
to fund the programs to help other Lawrence County
residents. To meet an aggressive United Way goal
community leaders need to step forward, personally
and corporately, to make it happen. What could
United Way do if each of us increases our giving
by 10%, by 50%? Then United Way of Lawrence County
would be able to increase its support of key social
service agencies, take on new initiatives to meet
changing needs and help create a stronger Lawrence
County. I want to help make that happen.”
Shannon Barger
UAW 440 Community Services Chair
“Being a Leadership Roundtable Giver is very
important to me because I want to give back to
the agencies that helped me in my time of need.
I want these agencies to be able to continue
helping others when the need is desperate!
I encourage everyone in this community to
give to the United Way of Lawrence County by
donating money, goods, or their time. The
feeling you get from helping others is indescribable.”

“When my eleven brothers and sisters and I were
children, we didn’t have much of anything, but
I never felt “poor.” Agencies like the member
agencies of United Way of Lawrence County always
helped us make ends meet with food, clothes and
presents at Christmas. That’s why I’ve always
helped United Way. This year, I’ve decided to
increase my pledge from the Columbia to the Pentagon
level. United Way helps a lot of people and I want
to give back to the community through the U
nited Way of Lawrence County’s Leadership
Roundtable.”
Leadership Givers are those
who believe that their contribution will make a difference in the community
they call home. They demonstrate to others that Lawrence County is worthy
of such a significant personal investment by joining the Lawrence County
Leadership Roundtable. Those who belong to the Roundtable serve as an
example for all to recognize and emulate. You are invited to join together
with fellow leaders by becoming a member of the United Way of Lawrence
County’s Astronauts or Limestone Roundtable with an annual gift
of $500 and above. Celebrate and honor our astronaut and limestone heritage
with your leadership gift. You will set and direct the course our community
takes for years to come. The result will be a better community—a
community that is resilient in the face of change and responsive to the
onset of new challenges. Thank you for your leadership and generosity!
